"MINX" (Hangul: 밍스; Romanization: mingseu) was a South Korean girl group under Happyface Entertainment. It was consisted of 5 members JiU, SuA, Siyeon, Yoohyeon, and Dami. They debuted on September 22nd, 2014 with the digital single "Why Did You Come to My Home?" and had their first comeback July 5, 2015 with the mini album "Love Shake".

It was later announced by the company on November 29, 2016 after a year-long hiatus that MINX would disband and re-debut as "Dreamcatcher" with the addition of two new members, Handong and Gahyun.

2014: Debut with "Why Did You Come To My Home?"[]

On August 9, 2014, Happyface Entertainment teased the debut of a new five-member girl group at Oak Valley Summertime Festival. On September 15, Happyface officially announced the new group, revealing its debuting name to be MINX.

"MINX" officially debuted on September 18 with their first single and only digital single "Why Did You Come To My Home?".

A few months later the group released a music video for a cover of Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree with Dal★Shabet.

2015: Comeback with "Love Shake"[]

On July 15, 2015, the group made their first comeback with their first and only mini album, titled Love Shake.

2016–2017: Disbandment, re-debut as Dreamcatcher[]

Over a year since the group's last release, on November 29, 2016, Happyface Entertainment announced that the group would disband and re-debut under the name "Dreamcatcher" with the five original members and two new members. These new members, Handong and Gahyun, were revealed on December 1 and December 5 respectively.

Dreamcatcher officially debuted on January 13, 2017 with their first single album "Nightmare".

Trivia[]

  • Surprisingly, Dreamcatcher's company doesn't forbid the members from talking or mentioning MINX.
    • They have been seen speaking, listening and even dancing to their songs before. [1]
    • Handong and Gahyun have danced a small part of "Love Shake". [2]
  • Some of the original members have said in interviews that their past time in MINX is something they are embarrassed of.
    • Probably because the concept cute and innocent of the group made them feel uncomfortable.
  • In an interview with YouTube channel CHOODA, it was revealed that Hwang Sooyeon (Current Dreamcatcher choreographer) almost debuted as a member of Minx.
  • On October 29, 2022 during their World Tour "Apocalypse" all 7 members covered "Love Shake" as special surprise stage. [3]
